ATNS Psychotherapist Special Interest Group

The Psychotherapist Special Interest Group (SIG) at the Association for the Treatment of Neuroplastic Symptoms supports psychotherapists and mental health professionals in deepening their understanding and treatment of neuroplastic symptoms. Through peer consultation, collaborative learning, and community, members build clinical confidence and connect with colleagues who share their commitment to this work.

Objectives

  • Consult

    Provide a structured space for psychologists, masters-level psychotherapists, social workers, and other mental health professionals to bring complex cases and receive thoughtful, collaborative input from peers.

  • Learn

    Learn and deepen clinical knowledge of the pathophysiology, diagnosis, and treatment of neuroplastic symptoms through case-based discussion and shared clinical experience.

  • Connect

    Build community among mental health professionals working with neuroplastic symptoms, reducing the professional isolation that can come with this specialized and often misunderstood area of practice.

  • Collaborate

    Encourage knowledge exchange across mental health disciplines — psychologists, masters-level therapists,  counselors and social workers — to support comprehensive care for neuroplastic symptoms.

  • Grow

    Support ongoing professional development by sharing clinical frameworks, therapeutic approaches, emerging research, and practical tools for working with neuroplastic symptoms in a mental health context.

  • Advocate

    Elevate the standard of mental health care for neuroplastic symptoms by contributing to ATNS-affiliated podcasts, social media, and educational initiatives.

Eligibility

Active members of ATNS who are clinical psychologists, masters-level therapists, counselors, social workers, and other mental health professionals working with clients experiencing neuroplastic symptoms are eligible to join. Practitioners at all career stages are welcome.
